Bhaktapur International Hospital (BIH) has officially entered into a collaborative agreement with T.U. Lions Blood Transfusion and Research Centre (TU Lions Blood Bank) to ensure a more efficient and reliable provision of blood components for patients in need.
This partnership marks a major step toward enhancing access to life-saving blood units, including whole blood, packed RBCs, platelets, and plasma, especially during emergencies and critical treatments.
Key Highlights of the Agreement
1. Purpose
The goal is to build a sustainable and cooperative relationship that supports the timely availability and responsible management of blood components.
2. Scope of Collaboration
- Supply of blood components as per BIH’s request.
- Support for blood donation camps and promotion of voluntary donations.
- Strict adherence to national transfusion standards, ethical practices, and WHO regulations.
3. Roles and Responsibilities
TU Lions Blood Bank will:
- Provide blood units as required.
- Maintain proper storage and safety of blood units.
- Promote voluntary donation and organize blood donation events.
- Monitor transfusion outcomes and offer necessary feedback.
4. Financial Terms
Standard rates will be applied, as fixed by TU Lions Blood Bank in mutual consultation.
5. Confidentiality & Ethics
Both parties commit to upholding patient and donor privacy with complete confidentiality, as per national healthcare standards.
6. Duration
The agreement is valid for one year from the date of signing, with provisions for renewal based on mutual consent.
