Today, Nepal witnessed one of the largest youth-led protests in its modern history. What began as demonstrations against the government’s abrupt ban on popular social media platforms has grown into a broader uprising against corruption, lack of transparency, unemployment, and systemic injustice.
Thousands of young Nepalis — often referred to as the “Gen Z movement” — filled the streets of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Chitwan, and beyond. Protesters demanded accountability, an end to corruption, and protection of their democratic freedoms. Unfortunately, clashes between security forces and protesters escalated, leading to at least 19 deaths and over a hundred injuries nationwide.
Bhaktapur International Hospital is stepping up to meet an urgent need: emergency blood supply.
Despite road blockades and transport difficulties, the hospital has blood units available and is actively seeking support for transportation and donations.
